Events
Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentations (Odd Years)
A key highlight for the St Andrew’s Concert Band is our participation in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation. Held biennially on odd years, this national platform allows our members to showcase their musical growth and teamwork.
Vivace Concert - Combined Performing Arts Concert (Even Years)
‘Vivace’ is our school’s Combined Performing Arts Concert. Held biennially on even years, ‘Vivace’ brings together the various performing arts groups in a celebration of talent and creativity. It is a chance for the Band to perform for the wider school community, collaborate with other CCAs and showcase our musical journey.
SAF Day Combined Rededication Ceremony 2025 (Zone 4)
We were very privileged to have been invited to perform at the SAF Day Combined Rededication Ceremony 2025 (Zone 4) at the Suntec City Convention Centre on 1 July 2025, with the Minister for Manpower, Dr Tan See Leng, as the Guest of Honour for the ceremony.
Istana Open House
2025 was an exciting year for the St Andrew’s School (Secondary) Concert Band. We were very honoured and privileged to have been invited to perform at the Istana Open House on 9 November. Titled St Andrew’s School (Secondary) Concert Band — Inspired: A Journey Through Music, the performance explored themes of inspiration, love, and hope. With the powerful energy of Satoshi Yagisawa’s Inspire, the timeless emotion of Can’t Help Falling in Love, and familiar favourites such as Where I Belong and Future of Tomorrow, we invited listeners to dream, feel, and imagine what lies ahead.
National Day Celebrations and Parade
The Band plays a key role in our school’s National Day Celebration by adding a rousing musical presence. Through patriotic tunes and ceremonial marches, the Band contributes to the festive atmosphere while honouring the nation’s heritage and igniting the school spirit among staff and students.
Passing-Out Parade Ceremony
The Passing Out Parade (POP) is a meaningful annual tradition where our graduating Secondary 4 members bid farewell, handing over leadership to the next generation. It also marks the official welcome of Secondary 2s into the main band, celebrating growth, continuity, and the enduring spirit of the Flaming Quaver.
SAS(S)-SAJC Year-End Combined Concert
To end the year on a high note, the Band performs in the SASS-SAJC Year-End Combined Concert, a collaboration with the SAJC Symphonic Band. Held just before the school holidays, this concert showcases our shared passion for music and strengthens the bonds within the Saints family.
